WHAT: ACOG’s 56th Annual Clinical Meeting (ACM)

WHERE: New Orleans Morial Convention Center, Halls B-E

WHEN: Saturday, May 3-Wednesday, May 7, 2008

DETAILS: Founded in 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, ACOG has over 52,000 members and is the nation's leading group of professionals providing health care for women. Now based in Washington, DC, it is a private, voluntary, nonprofit membership organization that works primarily in the following four areas: Serving as a strong advocate for quality health care for women; Maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice and continuing education for its members; Promoting patient education and stimulating patient understanding of and involvement in medical care; Increasing awareness among its members and the public of the changing issues facing women's health care.

ACOG’s 56th Annual Clinical Meeting (ACM) will be held in New Orleans May 3-7, 2008 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. ACOG's ACM is one of the largest gatherings of ob-gyns in the US. The meeting, attended by thousands of experts in the field, will host scientific presentations, postgraduate courses, new research poster sessions, paper presentations and updates on current issues. Improvements in obstetric care, developments in cancer screenings, and advancements in gynecologic treatments are just part of the overall education that has been taken to the next level to reflect the changing environment of women's heath care.

ACOG’s last meeting in New Orleans was in 2003 with a previous meeting occurring in 1998. This year’s meeting is projected to generate millions of dollars in economic impact.
