Behind the Bench to Hold ‘Touching a Life Gala’
Feed the children in support of New Orleans Recovery Schools chosen as beneficiary

Oklahoma City, Okla. (Jan. 24, 2008) – Behind The Bench, the National Basketball Wives Association, will host the “Touching a Life Gala” on Feb. 15 at 6:30pm at the New Orleans Marriott during the 2008 NBA All Star Weekend in New Orleans, LA. The gala will include a live and silent auction with chance of a lifetime experiences and a guest list of over 450 business and community leaders. All proceeds will benefit International hunger relief organization Feed The Children, in support of New Orleans Recovery Schools.

Dee Brown, wife of former Hornets forward PJ Brown, has taken on the challenge of being this year’s gala chair. “I thought this year would be a little more touching and close to my heart because the event is being held here in my home state,” Brown said. “There is such a need for every organization in some way because of the devastation from hurricane Katrina and I wanted to do something to benefit the children of New Orleans in any way possible.”

2008 Touching a Life Gala Honorees will be:
Filmmaker and philanthropists Spike Lee and Tonya Lee
TV One Founder Cathy Hughes
National Basketball Player’s Association Executive William “Billy” Hunter
New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister
