Lt. Governor Landrieu to Unveil Louisiana's African American Heritage Trail

Baton Rouge, LA (Feb. 22, 2008) - In celebration of Black History Month, Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu will hold a press conference Wednesday, February 27 at 10 a.m. at the New Orleans African American Museum to unveil Louisiana's African American Heritage Trail.

The African American Heritage Trail is a collection of sites around Louisiana that showcase the contributions of African Americans to the history and culture, to the food and music, the arts and literature, not only to Louisiana, but also to America.

The New Orleans African American Museum, one of 26 sites on the trail, is located in Treme, which is the oldest surviving black community in the United States.
