February 29, 2008 - Real Life...Real Music...With a Real Cause

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

REAL LIFE...REAL MUSIC...WITH A REAL CAUSE
The Readings Kick off Borders Book Store Tour in San Diego on Saturday, March 29, 2008

Nashville, Tenn.--February 26, 2008--Recording artists Chris and Eric Reading, The Readings, are gearing up for Tour 4 Cure (T4C), a national acoustic concert series to benefit the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF). T4C was conceptualized to raise money and awareness for Multiple Myeloma, a form of blood cancer that ultimately took the life of their mother Bonnie. T4C, in partnership with Borders Book Stores and MMRF, will take place at Borders Book Stores across America and kicks off Saturday,

March 29, 2008 in San Diego, Calif. FREE to the public, T4C will include performances by The Readings along with celebrity emcees and special guest performers. Combining their talent, love for music and philanthropy, The Readings hope to create awareness in finding a cure for Multiple Myeloma. This disease is something very personal for the brothers, as their mother was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in April of 1990. "One of Those Days," a song penned by the duo in honor of their mother, later went on to be adopted by the American Cancer Society as well as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for promotional purposes both locally and nationally. Their mother, Bonnie, lost her courageous battle to this disease at the age of 51. The loss of their mother not only inspired them to follow their dreams, but fueled their ambition and passion to create T4C.

The Readings are passionate performers who define their sound as "real life, set to music." The Nashville residents have performed with the likes of Amy Grant, Billy Currington, Jimmy Wayne and Jennifer Hanson. They have completed two full-length albums and written hundreds of original songs, several of which have been recorded by other artists. The Readings' video "She Brings Me Down" was selected by Country Music Television R (CMT) as one of the nation's best independent videos.

About Multiple Myeloma and MMRF:
Multiple myeloma is an incurable cancer of the plasma cell. The five-year
relative survival rate for multiple myeloma is approximately 33%, one of the lowest of all cancers. In 2007, an estimated 19,900 adults (10,960 men and 8,940 women) in the United States were diagnosed with multiple myeloma and an estimated 10,790 people died from the disease.

The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) was established in 1998 as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization by twin sisters Karen Andrews and Kathy Giusti, soon after Kathy's diagnosis with multiple myeloma. The mission of the MMRF is to urgently and aggressively fund research that will lead to the development of new treatments for multiple myeloma. As the world's number-one funder of multiple myeloma research, the MMRF has raised nearly $100 million since its inception to fund 70 laboratories worldwide. The payback on its investment has been significant, including the approval of four new treatments in four years alone. Today, the MMRF is supporting 30 new compounds and approaches now in clinical trials and pre-clinical studies and has facilitated 10 clinical trials through its sister organization, the

Multiple Myeloma Research Consortium (MMRC). The MMRF is one of the most effective and efficient organizations of its kind, as evidenced by its exceptional accreditations. In 2006, nearly 95% of every dollar of revenue raised was directed toward myeloma research and related educational programs. For more information about the MMRF, please visit:
