MEDIA ADVISORY NOMA Celebrates Spring with Dog Day in the Besthoff Sculpture Garden
WHAT: For one day only in celebration of famed Blue Dog artist George Rodrigue’s career retrospective, dog lovers can bring their best friend to the Besthoff Sculpture Garden to enjoy New Orleans’ finest sculpture collection.
An on-site adoption team from the LASPCA will also be available for those looking to adopt a new dog.
As a special treat in the garden, George Rodrigue will host a painting demonstration for all ages while his wife Wendy Rodrigue discusses his artistic career. Art activity booths for children will be located at several locations in the garden for visitors to decorate a Blue Dog mask, produce their own balloon dog, or color their own Blue Dog.
In addition, all attendees will be able to enjoy Cajun music, take a picture with their dog and the 8-foot Blue Dog steel and chrome sculpture or purchase a snowball.
