RENEW, REBUILD AND REJOICE! HOUSE OF BLUES NEW ORLEANS TO OPEN DOORS TO PUBLIC
NEW ORLEANS, LA - December 6, 2005: House of Blues® is proud to announce the upcoming partial reopening of its New Orleans venue, located in the city’s famous French Quarter. House of Blues New Orleans, which suffered damage due to Hurricane Katrina, is planning to open its doors for business on a limited basis in a demonstration of the company’s commitment to the revitalization of New Orleans.
On Monday, December 12, the Southern-inspired Restaurant and Bar will begin serving lunch and dinner daily from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Preceding the restaurant opening will be the resumption of limited operations at the private membership Foundation Room on Thursday, December 8. Later in the month, House of Blues New Orleans will present the following shows in the Music Hall and will resume its role of showcasing the best in local and national artists:
Wednesday, December 28 -- Cowboy Mouth with Bonerama and The Zion Harmonizers. 7:00 p.m. doors/8:00 p.m. show. 18+
Thursday, December 29--- A very special homecoming concert with Dr. John plus Jon Cleary and The Absolute Monster Gentlemen. 7:00 p.m. doors/8:00 p.m. show.18 +
Friday, December 30 --- Better Than Ezra plus Hot 8 Brass Band. 7:00 p.m. doors/8:00 p.m. show. 18+
Saturday, December 31 --- A New Year’s Eve Celebration with Better Than Ezra plus Supagroup. 8:30 p.m. doors/9:30 p.m. show. 21+ show

House of Blues intends to serve as a catalyst for the economic redevelopment of the New Orleans entertainment & tourism industry. The partial reopening of the New Orleans venue will serve as a bridge for nationally touring artists to return to the city and provide local musicians with a pipeline of employment and an opportunity to showcase their incredible talent. “We are proud to showcase several of New Orleans homegrown artists to help us ring in the New Year,” says Sonny Schneidau, Talent Buyer for House of Blues New Orleans.
Following the impact of Hurricane Katrina, HOB Entertainment, Inc. has taken part in a number of fund-raising efforts designed to assist those affected by the devastation, including a Pearl Jam / Robert Plant benefit concert at House of Blues Chicago which raised more than $1 million for American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Jazz Foundation of America and the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic. Net proceeds from “Second Line on Sunset: A Celebration of New Orleans Music To Benefit The Musicians of Louisiana” went to the MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund and was sponsored by House of Blues, Michael Murphy Productions, Gibson Guitar, MSN® and Putumayo World Music. House of Blues also implemented a fund to assist displaced team members and retail t-shirt sales benefited local New Orleans organizations such as Tipitina's Foundation, Preservation Hall's New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund, New Orleans Musicians Clinic and Habitat for Humanity.
