THE RITZ-CARLTON, NEW ORLEANS- NAMED ONE OF THE 65 BEST NEW HOTELS IN THE WORLD
Source: Conde Nast Traveller’s UK Edition- 2007 Hot List

NEW ORLEANS, April 18, 2007- - The 2007 Hot List in the upcoming May issue of Conde Nast Traveller UK identifies The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans as one of the sixty-five (65) best new hotels in the world.

The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans is the only hotel in the State of Louisiana to appear on the Hot List and the only Ritz-Carlton hotel to be selected out of sixty-four (64) luxury properties worldwide. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company’s newest addition is The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo. According to the Conde Nast Traveller UK, “The 65 best new hotels in the world range from a safari lodge in Tanzania to a club hangout in Italy. What they all have in common is the style and talent to see off even the toughest competition.” Additionally, only eight (8) other hotels in the United States were chosen as part of the annual Hot List. For a complete list, go to www.cntraveller.com.

The article states that “They (The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans) have plumped up the hotel's luxury quotient by upgrading the already palatial spa and enlarging and polishing the already stellar staff. The hotel was new to the city even before the hurricane, opening in 2000 in one of downtown's most famous buildings, the 1909 Maison Blanche, once the coolest department store in the south. The hotel is a visual and emotional anchor for New Orleans, open to commercial Canal Street on the front and the French Quarter at the back.”

General Manager Myra deGersdorff was thrilled when she heard the news. “We are honored to be included in this incredibly exclusive list. This award speaks to the daily efforts of the five hundred ladies and gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans who work tirelessly to provide the finest luxury accommodations for our guests.”

The newly reopened Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans is located at 921 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana, 70112.
