NEW ORLEANS, LA - The Southern Food and Beverage Museum (SoFAB) is pleased to announce that it will resume its weekly cooking series and lunch demonstrations on Monday, August 22, 2016 with the return of Taste of New Orleans - a culinary demonstration and lunch featuring lessons on traditional New Orleans fare. New to the program this fall is Creole Italian class, launching Thursday, August 25, 2016. This unique cooking demonstration and lunch series will offer an in-depth look into how to create delicious Creole Italian dishes and the cultural and historic traditions behind them. Both classes will take place weekly in the state-of-the-art Rouses Culinary Innovation Center by Jenn-Air and are priced at $40 per person, which includes museum admission and lunch.

Taste of New Orleans - Mondays, 11AM - 1PM
Guests will enjoy learning how to prepare traditional dishes and take the secrets of New Orleans' flavors home to their kitchens.

The Lunch menu follows:

Fresh Tomato Salad with Creole Remoulade Sauce
Creole Jambalaya with Chicken, Sausage and Vine-Ripened Tomatoes
Bananas Foster Flambé with Vanilla Ice Cream
New Orleans French bread with butter
Iced Tea and Coffee

Creole Italian Cooking Class - Thursdays, 11AM - 1PM

In this new weekly program, guests will learn about the origin of Creole Italian cuisine when Sicilians came to New Orleans in the late 1800's and adapted the established Creole ingredients into their cooking. A relaxed two-hour demonstration and lunch will feature the following menu:
• Italian Olive Salad with Fresh Lemon
• Creole Red Gravy with Sweet Italian Sausage and Pasta
• Made to Order Snoballs
• Garlic Bread and Iced Tea
Classes are available for private group reservations with additional add-ons or specialty menus upon request. Celebrity chefs are also available to conduct demonstrations. A list of available chefs can be provided by SoFAB upon request. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with 48 hours advance notice. Admission to the museum, along with the Museum of the American Cocktail, is included in the demonstration price. There is a discounted price for SoFAB Members.
