(New Orleans, LA) - Today, JetBlue begins daily non-stop flights to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is one of JetBlue's hub airports where passengers can conveniently connect to more than 50 destinations. Service to FLL will be offered on JetBlue's Airbus A320 aircraft departing MSY at 8:48 a.m. and arriving in FLL at 11:33 a.m. (all times local).

"We are proud to be launching daily service to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport from our Florida focus city Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood" said Dave Clark, vice president of network planning at JetBlue. "This new route not only gives New Orleans a new nonstop option to Florida but also provides a great connection to our many destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America - everywhere from the Bahamas to Colombia to Mexico to Puerto Rico and beyond."

With this new route, JetBlue now serves three destinations from MSY. Other serviced destinations include Boston and New York's JFK Airport. In addition to adding this new route, JetBlue is celebrating 15 years of operations in New Orleans.

"We thank JetBlue for its fifteen years of service in New Orleans and look forward to many more great years to come," said New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. "We are very pleased that JetBlue chose to expand their reach from New Orleans with flights to Fort Lauderdale."

"JetBlue's service to Fort Lauderdale will increase competition and foster new growth in our market," said New Orleans Aviation Board Chairwoman, Cheryl Teamer. "JetBlue has established a great presence in New Orleans through their longevity at Armstrong International."

"Fort Lauderdale is a huge hub offering countless destinations for JetBlue passengers," said New Orleans Councilman Jared Brossett, Chair of the Transportation and Aviation Committee. "Traveling from New Orleans to Fort Lauderdale provides limitless connectivity to anywhere passengers want to go."

"JetBlue's service and commitment to New Orleans is commendable," said Iftikhar Ahmad, Director of Aviation for Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. "We appreciate the positive impact the airline makes not only in the Airport, but also in the community."
