(New Orleans, LA) -Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is pleased to announce that Choice Aire--operated by XTRA Airways--will begin year-round, non-stop service to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on December 17, 2016. This new non-stop flight will depart on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport (SAP).

Choice Aire--operated by XTRA Airways--will utilize a 150-seat Boeing 737-400 for the approximately three-hour flight. Round-trip fares start at $499 and include one free carry-on and one free checked bag, as well as a snack and beverage during the flight.

"Choice Aire and our dedicated team of professionals are excited and privileged to be able to offer the New Orleans and surrounding communities a quality, economical, and much needed nonstop flight to the beautiful country of Honduras," said Danny Looney, CEO of Choice Air. "No longer will the leisure or business traveler have to connect to go from MSY to SAP. Choice also offers easy connections to many airports in Honduras through our regional Airline Partners. With our very competitive ticket pricing and bag policy, we want to be your Honduras transportation provider. We offer a very generous Passenger/Business Loyalty program that is unmatched in the industry and are extremely proud of our service and customer dedication. Visit your local travel agency or book direct online with Choice Aire at www.flychoiceaire.com. Give us a try. We want to earn your trust and support."

Michael J. Hackert, XTRA Vice President of Sales and Services said, "XTRA Airways is proud to partner with Choice Aire Charter. This opportunity to work with Choice Aire is a long time in the making and gives everyone at XTRA Airways a true sense of pride. We are confident the combined strengths of XTRA and Choice Aire will provide an outstanding guest experience on our flights from New Orleans to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. XTRAs pristine fleet of Boeing 737-400s which feature 12 luxurious first class seats and 138 roomy standard class seats, coupled with our world class flight attendants and pilots will certainly spoil the market."

Choice Aire is a public charter company headquartered in Miami, Florida, with over 30 years of experience in the industry. The company currently offers flights from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, to Miami and now New Orleans. Connections with Choice Aire from San Pedro Sula to Tegucigalpa, Roatan, La Ceiba, Puerto Lempira, and Utila, will be available soon.

"This is another significant announcement for our airport and citizens," said New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. "This flight will improve connection and synergy between businesses in both New Orleans and Latin America and be another positive advancement for our communities."

"This new route is another testament to our City and the prospering international destination that it is," said New Orleans Aviation Board Chairwoman, Cheryl Teamer. "We are delighted to welcome Choice Aire's operations from Honduras to New Orleans."

"We thank Choice Aire for providing this non-stop service to Honduras and offering more connectivity for area residents to destinations throughout Central and South America," said New Orleans Councilman Jared Brossett, Chair of the Transportation and Aviation Committee.

"We are pleased to see growth of international service from Armstrong International," said Walter J. Krygowski, Acting Director of Aviation for Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. "With this new flight, the Airport will have non-stop service to seven international destinations."
