NOLA Tree Project, the City of New Orleans Department of Parks & Parkways and the Sewerage and Water Board hosts the Big TREEsy Giveaway presented by Entergy

NEW ORLEANS (November 21, 2016) - One Thousand Louisiana-grown trees will be given out at no charge to the residents of New Orleans. This is the second event planned over the upcoming months that include four other New Orleans City Council Districts in Orleans Parish with the goal of giving away over 4,000 trees. Urban Foresters, Landscape Architects, and Horticulturalists from the City of New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways will be on site to assist residents in the selection of their trees and provide a seminar on proper tree planting and care. There will also be a sale on Plaquemines Parish Citrus Trees. These trees are the perfect holiday gifts that keeps on giving!

This Big TREEsy Giveaway is a program by NOLA Tree project, a non-profit organization whose mission is to replant over 100,000 trees lost to Hurricane Katrina. The trees have been generously provided by a grant from the Apache Corporation and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans.
