WHAT:
The second annual Link Stryjewski Foundation Bal Masqué is a blend of elegance and mystery in celebration of New Orleans' Creole carnival roots. Masked guests will feel as though they have stepped back into the 17th Century as they spend an enchanting evening filled with food, wine and spectacular entertainment.

Eight nationally renowned chefs will prepare the menu for the evening's masquerade: John Currence (City Grocery, Oxford, MS), Suzanne Goin (Lucques, Los Angeles), Paul Kahan (Publican, Chicago), Mike Lata (FIG, Charleston), Nancy Oakes (Prospect, San Francisco), Richard Reddington (Redd, Yountville, CA), Andrea Reusing (Lantern, Chapel Hill), and Maggie Scales (La Boulangerie, New Orleans)

Dr. John & the Nite Trippers will headline the Bal Masqué. "Dr. John is an international legend, and we are honored that he will join us this year," states Chef Donald Link. "As a huge music fan, it is a dream to have such greatness supporting our mission here in New Orleans." Dr. John, whose career spans six-decades, recently released a new album, The Musical Mojo of Dr. John: Celebrating Mac and His Music. The album includes performances by Bruce Springsteen, John Fogerty, Widespread Panic and Dr. John & The Nite Trippers' Music Director Sarah Morrow among other nationally recognized acts.

Dr. John will be joined at the masquerade by Big Sam's Funky Nation, The Roots of Music and Cha Wa Indians.

Friday, January 6, 2017: On Twelfth Night, celebrity Chef Mario Batali will craft a premium 4-course dinner at Calcasieu. This "add-on" event is available for only 150 guests, and will include an exclusive list of auction items.
