NEW ORLEANS - February 20, 2016 - Travel the world in a single day at the 19th Annual Children's World's Fair - Saturday, March 25 at the Louisiana Children's Museum, 420 Julia Street, New Orleans. The Children's World's Fair is a daylong journey that explores what is unique and universal to countries and cultures around the globe. Travelers will have a full itinerary as they enjoy lively, cultural performances and explore the games, music, literature, native attire, crafts and flavors of destinations including Croatia, Germany, Ghana, Honduras, India, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Switzerland.

Countries will also highlight the global importance of science, technology, engineering and math with interactive activities and hands-on science experiments.
"Children's World's Fair celebrates cultures around the world," says Julia Bland, chief executive officer of the Louisiana Children's Museum. "Families from many different cultures come together to share and experience traditions and customs of our global community. Since its inception, Children's World's Fair has introduced families to more than 100 unique countries," adds Bland.

Travelers will travel to Croatia and learn to speak and write in Croatian; play Cat's Cradle and create an Edelweiss flower in Germany, and make crystals like those found in South Ghana. Explorers will play soccer and have their faces painted as a Mayan of Copan in Honduras and visit the Taj Mahal, create an authentic rangoli painting and taste aloo chat, a popular and flavorful snack in India. In the Philippines, explore the world of volcanos and predict when they will erupt and decorate a parol, a beautiful Filipino lantern.

Continue the journey to Puerto Rico where young voyagers will create colorful maracas and play juego de peregrine, a game similar to hopscotch. In Switzerland, dress like a Swiss mountaineer in an alpine hat and taste popular Swiss chocolates and cheeses.

The Children's World's Fair Center Stage, sponsored by Pan American Life Insurance Group, will feature special cultural performances throughout the day. Learn songs performed by the Deutsches Haus' Kinderchor and the chicken dance. Enjoy traditional Croatian songs performed by Olivia Belle Gray, authentic Indian dances choreographed by Ruby Creative Dance, and much more.

The intergenerational journey will begin with the Early Explorer Party from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Guests will get a first look at the country exhibits and young globetrotters will receive an exclusive Early Explorer treat bag. Early Explorer packages begin at $100 for a family four-pack; individual tickets are $30.
At 12:00 p.m., all adventurers are invited to join the fun. General admission tickets are $20 per person. Advance general admission tickets for LCM Members are $16 per person. All general admission tickets purchased on event day are $20 per person.

Proceeds from Children's World's Fair benefit the Louisiana Children's Museum's educational programs and exhibits. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.lcm.org or in person at the Louisiana Children's Museum -- Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, 12 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Children's World's Fair sponsored by BP, Dow, Pan American Life Insurance Group, GE Digital, Laitram, Mr. Mike Motwani and Family, European Wax Center, Furniture Mart, Willie's Chicken Shack, Drs. Harish and Parveen Anand, Baptist Community Ministries, the Bhatnagar Family, International Matex, and the Kim Family.
