New Orleans Multicultural Tourism Network (NOMTN)
Puts New Orleans Front and Center at ESSENCE Festival® presented by Coca-Cola®
with EXCLUSIVE Daytime Press Room Activations

With so many local stories to share and so many media channels to listen, the New Orleans Multicultural Tourism Network (NOMTN) is proud to be a sponsor of this year's ESSENCE Festival press junket with first-time exclusive rights to daytime press room activations all three days. In this role, NOMTN will be able to put the people and businesses that represent the Soul of New Orleans in front of hundreds of reporters, media celebrities and bloggers from around the world.

"We have so many special stories to share that showcase and shape the conversation about our city as we approach our 300th birthday," said LaDana Skidmore Williams, Interim Executive Director, NOMTN. "This partnership with Essence Festival couldn't align better with our mission."

NOMTN is seeking participation from the community and encouraging submissions from restaurants, galleries, nightlife, local personalities, and more to put on display in the press room. Submissions should be sent to info@SoulofNewOrleans.com on or before June 19, 2017.

"The Essence Festival and New Orleans have had a 23-year love affair," Essence Banks, NOMTN Board Chairman said. "We will still engage with the hundreds of thousands of visitors that pour into the Convention Center, but we made a strategic decision to take over the daytime press room in order to present a side of New Orleans media may not know. It's exciting."

The Daytime Press Room will be located at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and opened to credentialed media only between June 30 - July 2.

As such, we partner with multicultural businesses and tourism entities to help keep the city we love in the hearts of travelers.

ABOUT THE EVENT: Essence Fest has an economic impact on our city of $250 million. Last year, the event drew more than 450,000 people from around the world. This year, festival goers will get to see stars like Diana Ross, Mary J. Blige, Chance The Rapper, Solange, John Legend, Xscape, Master P and more. The 2017 Essence Festival will bring together some of today's brightest and most influential voices in politics, music, activism, entertainment, business, fashion and beauty for an enriching weekend full of all the things that make Black culture unlike any other.
