MID SOUTH WOMEN IN TOURISM ANNOUNCES EVENT TO BENEFIT NEW ORLEANS CHARITIES

"Passport to Fashion" - September's fashion show and auction will raise funds for MSWIT, CAGNO, the New Orleans Family Justice Center, and UNO HRT's Master's Program Scholarship.

Metairie, LA, July 31, 2017- MSWIT's biannual fundraiser event normally attracts hundreds, but this year's revamped positioning shoots for higher attendance. Featuring a tourism themed fashion show, using models from the tourism industry, the New Orleans Family Justice Center, and the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans, "Passport to Fashion" will be supplemented by a Travel Partner Marketplace, an auction featuring items like airfare packages, and even a martini bar. New to the event is MSWIT's Inaugural "Innovator in Tourism" Award, which will be given to a visionary in the field.

The event will be held on Saturday, September 9th, at the Sheraton Metairie from 12:30 - 3:30pm.

Tickets, which include a full brunch, may be purchased through MSWIT's website at http://www.mswit.com/news/fundraiser/.

The association is also accepting sponsorships and last minute registrations for the Travel Partner Marketplace.

The community is urged to take part in any way they can.

"We have a wonderful and exciting show planned for September. Our organization has truly come together to bring out all of the bells and whistles," notes Denise Thevenot, MSWIT President.

About Mid South Women in Tourism Made up of women from the travel and tourism industries throughout Louisiana and beyond, MSWIT is an organization that promotes goodwill through the support of local projects, programs, and continuing education opportunities.
