New Orleans' historic Perley Thomas streetcars made their return to the city's iconic Garden District on Nov. 10, 2007 after a two-year hiatus due to hurricane damage to the original line. One of the city's most enduring cultural symbols, the green streetcars are recognized by the National Register of Historic Places and their homecoming to the St. Charles Ave line is yet another milestone heralding the return of New Orleans.
