The Shops at Canal Place Re-open Feb. 10

The Shops at Canal Place will reopen Friday, February 10, 2006. Normal hours will resume on that date: Monday through Saturday, 10am to 7pm and Sunday, 12noon to 6pm.

Our commitment to the rebuilding and renewal of our beloved City of New Orleans will be evident in our reopening of The Shops at Canal Place where thrilling updates are underway.

Situated on the edge of the historic French Quarter, in the heart of New Orleans, The Shops at Canal Place is home to many exclusive, notable designer boutiques. An on-site four-star hotel, The Wyndham Canal Place, and a convenient covered parking facility adds to The Shops’ unique offerings.

Anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue, this world-class shopping center boasts a superb mix of stores including Gucci, BCBG, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, White House/Black Market,Adrienne Vittadini, Banana Republic and Brooks Brothers, to name a few.

Friday, February 10:
12 noon – Ribbon cutting on Canal Street

Saturday, February 11:
3 p.m. – “A Toast of New Orleans”: the history of the cocktail presented by The Southern Food and Beverage Museum, with cocktail demonstration\
2-5 p.m. – RHINO artists demonstrations throughout the mall

Sunday, February 12:
1 p.m. – Tom Piazza reading and signing Why New Orleans Matters
2 p.m. – John McGill of the Historic New Orleans Collection presenting a history of retail on Canal Street and the history of the Canal Place property

Throughout the weekend during mall hours:

  • Ogden Museum exhibit: “Sense of Place” children present places in New Orleans that they love. Also, a city-wide children’s art exhibit, “We love New Orleans: Visions of a New New Orleans”
