Macy's Lakeside Opens Tax Refund Center

MACY’S LAKESIDE OPENS TAX REFUND CENTER
America’s Premier Retailer Expands Services to Visitors

New Orleans, LA – October 6, 2009 – Macy’s announced today the grand opening of a Tax Refund Center at the Lakeside Mall store, the first of its kind to open up inside a Macy's location. Located on the 3rd floor across from gift-wrap, the Tax Refund Center is able to process all the paperwork for New Orleans visitors to receive their purchases tax-free. This additional service complements the existing Savings Pass offered at Macy's, providing special visitor services throughout the store.

Macy's Lakeside General Manager Brian Williams said, "We are pleased to offer our international visitors this additional service, saving them time on their travels, by allowing them to process their tax refund as their gifts are being wrapped, or while continuing to shop throughout the store. As the only Tax Refund Center in Jefferson Parish, we are pleased to offer international shoppers the chance to get their refund in U.S. dollars while still in the midst of their vacation."

Macy's operates a significant Visitor and Convention business, and the Tax Refund Center is the latest addition to a variety of services and special offers aimed at visitors to New Orleans. Added Kristen Esposito, Macy’s Vice President, Visitor Services and Tourism, "We are able to offer our Macy's Savings Pass at all five Louisiana locations. We are especially excited to add this new Tax Refund Center to Lakeside Mall, and shoppers will be pleased to know that their tax refund will be immediately refunded in cash, truly one-stop shopping!"

The new facility is open from 10am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday and 11am to 6pm on Sunday, and is staffed by specially trained Louisiana Tax Free staff as well as Macy’s associates who are familiar and trained with the Louisiana tax refund laws. Customers can expect to process their paperwork in approximately 5 minutes, and their sales tax will be credited back in the form of cash . International customers simply show a passport and verification of their itinerary to apply for the refund.
