Pyrates partner with Lowernine.org to help rebuild New Orleans

DETAILS:
NOLA Pyrate Week is 10 days of swashbuckling, art, music, food, events and general camaraderie among the Pyrates of New Orleans – past & present – and their mates from around the globe. During their visit, Pyrates commit their time and talents for three, eight-hour days, giving back to the city they love by volunteering with rebuilding projects like lowernine.org and raising funds for many others.

NOLA Pyrate Week’s mission is to promote awareness and attention to the city of New Orleans and was originally conceived and developed in the heart of New Orleans by a small group of like-minded “Pyrates of The New World.” Miz Mardi Claw (Bos'un), QM Seika Hellbound & Capt. John Swallow have been joined by many other Pyrates, artists, musicians, community/charitable organizations, Krewes, local businesses and other citizens who support the NOLA Pyrate creed: “Take what ye can…GIVE something back!”™

In keeping with this creed, NOLA Pyrate Week will auction off a one week stay in a Jamaican Pyrate Hideaway, with all proceeds supporting Goodchildren Social Aid & Pleasure Club, Dogs Of The 9th Ward, lowernine.org and Wetlands Preservation.   • Mon, Mar. 29: Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World tour with Pyrates; 2 p.m.
  • Tues, Mar. 30-Thurs, Apr 1: Community Service projects with lowernine.org; 6018 El Dorado Street, 8a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Sun, Apr. 4: Goodchildren Carnival Club Easter Parade – route along St. Claude Ave. from Poland Ave. to Elysian Fields; 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
