Microsoft TechEd Convenes in New Orleans June 7-10, 2010
Conference to feature Microsoft’s GeekGive - Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, June 5 and Microsoft’s launch of Elevate America Program in Louisiana on Tuesday, June 8

WHERE: New Orleans Morial Convention Center (NOMCC), Halls C-J

WHEN: Monday, June 7-Thursday, June 10, 2010

DETAILS:
Approximately 10,000 attendees will gather in New Orleans, June 7-10 at the NOMCC for insights and expertise in new technology. Attendees will have access to hundreds of IT learning opportunities, while collaborating with Microsoft innovators and third party individuals such as Microsoft MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals). Numerous product displays, including Windows 7, Office 2010 and Windows Phones, will be showcased on the expo floor with demonstrations conducted by technical experts.

The third major Microsoft conference that New Orleans has hosted in the past 18 months, this year’s TechEd meeting is set to generate more than $11 million in economic impact.

In addition to the conference, Microsoft MVPs will volunteer at GeekGive’s Habitat for Humanity build on Saturday, June 5, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. CT, at various job sites in the New Orleans East/Lake Forest area.

Finally, on Tuesday, June 8, at 10 a.m., Microsoft will also launch its Elevate America Louisiana program, a workforce development initiative that is part of Microsoft’s commitment to help strengthen the U.S. economy and improve access to education and workplace skills.
