Special Libraries Association (SLA) Convenes in New Orleans June 13-16, 2010

DETAILS:
Approximately 4,000 special librarians and information professionals will gather in New Orleans, June 13-16 at the NOMCC for the SLA 2010 Annual Conference. Special librarians are information specialists who are experts in business information, knowledge management and information resources. SLA members are experts who collect, analyze, evaluate, package and disseminate information to facilitate accurate decision-making in legal, corporate, academic and government settings.

With some 11,000 members, SLA is the leading global organization for innovative information professionals and their strategic partners that promote learning, advocacy and networking initiatives. SLA members serve their employer’s needs, by adding qualitative and quantitative value to information services and products.

The last time SLA met in New Orleans was in 1983. The 2010 meeting is the second time SLA has met in New Orleans and is set to generate millions of dollars in economic impact.
