WHAT: NAR 2010 REALTORS® Conference & Expo

WHEN: November 5-8, 2010

DETAILS: Following a busy Halloween weekend, packed full with Voodoo Fest and the annual Krewe of Halloween parade, 20,000 Realtors descend upon the city for NARdi Gras 2010, November 5-8, continuing the momentum of a booming tourism/meeting business this fall. NAR’s 2010 REALTORS® Conference & Expo, NARdiGras 2010 will host more than 1,000 international attendees from 40 countries, 125 education sessions and 400 exhibitors, which will showcase the latest products and innovations across various fields, including financial programs and services, technology and data communications.

Public policymakers and industry leaders such as Federal Housing Administration Commissioner David Steven; president of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank Dr. Thomas Hoeing; and Gulf Coast Claims Facility Administrator Kenneth R. Feinberg will address pressing real estate issues, including the effects of the BP oil spill on the real estate economy, the future of mortgage financing, and impact of improper foreclosure procedures on the housing market.

NAR, “The Voice of Real Estate,” is America’s largest trade association, representing 1.1 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.

NAR’s last annual meeting in New Orleans was in 2006, one of the first citywide meetings to return to the city. NARdi Gras 2010 will be the 17th meeting NAR has held in New Orleans, and this year’s meeting is set to generate more than $23 million in economic impact.
