“Three Chefs, One Mission” Heads to Tuscaloosa to Cook for 1,000 Tornado Victims
The Taste Buds rally support from local communities for clothing and toy donations

New Orleans, LA (May 4, 2011) – The Taste Buds, founders of Zea Rotisserie & Grill and Semolina, are three chefs on a mission leading a caravan to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to feed more than 1,000 people who have been affected by the recent devastating tornados as part of “Three Chefs, One Mission.” Taste Buds Gary Darling, Greg Reggio and Hans Limburg will leave New Orleans on May 10 with a caravan of people, food and donations to set up a cooking site to feed people on May 11.

The chefs will serve a variety of dishes - some of which will feature Louisiana seafood. Amanda Shaw, a 19-year-old New Orleans fiddler with a powerful southern sound, will entertain people with her Louisiana infused-mainstream music while they eat.

In addition to providing a warm meal for the storm victims, The Taste Buds are currently collecting new clothes and toys at Semolina in New Orleans and all 10 corporately-owned locations of Zea Rotisserie & Grill from Wed., May 4 through Sun., May 8. All of the supplies collected will be given to local organizations in Tuscaloosa to distribute to people in need. Participating locations of Zea Rotisserie & Grill include all five restaurants in the Greater New Orleans area as well as the restaurants in Baton Rouge, Covington and Lafayette, La.; and Birmingham and Mobile, Ala.

“Gary, Hans and I will never forget the incredible response that the rest of the country showed to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina devastated our city,” said Greg Reggio, one of the three Taste Buds. “We believe that it’s important to do the same for the people in Tuscaloosa who need our help right now. As chefs, we can use our expertise to provide them with a nice, hot meal and rally our communities to help support the relief efforts while they begin to put their lives back together just as we did several years ago.”

“Three Chefs, One Mission” is a new project from the Taste Buds that seeks to help communities and people in need after facing devastating situations. The Taste Buds will lead a caravan from New Orleans to sites around the country to serve hot meals when the need presents itself.
