Hotel Monteleone Announces New Mobile Passport for Guests
New application for smart phones makes travel easier before and after arrival

New Orleans, LA (May 31, 2011) – With more travelers on the go than ever before, the Hotel Monteleone is now offering guests the ability to connect to its hotel services using their smart phones with the Hotel Monteleone’s new Mobile Passport.

The Mobile Passport extends the Hotel’s services beyond the front desk and the Hotel website directly to the guest’s mobile phone. When a guest books a reservation at the Hotel Monteleone and includes an email address, the guest will receive a confirmation email and a link to the Mobile Passport. The Mobile Passport personalizes each link to the individual guest’s stay including their confirmation number, arrival/departure date and room type.

“The profile of today’s traveler has evolved tremendously over the past few years. We understand the needs of busy travelers to access information about their stay from anywhere at any time,” said Andrea Thornton, director of sales and marketing for the Hotel Monteleone. “When visiting New Orleans, guests don’t want to waste time planning where they will eat and what they will do. The Hotel Monteleone Mobile Passport will make it easy and convenient to make trip arrangements before and during their stay.”

The Mobile Passport helps guests plan their trip in seven different areas including:

Hotel - Provides information about available amenities at the Hotel Monteleone.

Reservation – Gives details specific to the guest’s reservation, including room type, confirmation number, arrival/departure date, and room number.

Travel – Helps guests plan their stay with local maps of the area, directions to points of interest, weather information and even an electronic version of the Hotel’s Runner’s Map.

eConcierge – Offers even more information about Hotel amenities and enables guests to contact the concierge to book dinner reservations, order in-room amenities and enquire about transportation. Additionally, this section allows guests to order their car from valet and schedule housekeeping.

Events – Directs guests to the Hotel’s Calendar of Events and informs guests of activities and events going on at the Hotel Monteleone and in New Orleans during their stay.

Social Media – Connects guests with the Hotel on social media and allows guests to tweet about their stay, “check-in” via Foursquare and visit the Hotel Monteleone Facebook page.

Feedback – Prompts guests to complete the Hotel’s Guest Satisfaction Survey and provides access to useful information including Hotel phone numbers, email addresses and frequently asked questions.

“As the Hotel Monteleone celebrates its 125th anniversary, it is adopting new technologies to remain fresh and competitive in the modern market,” continued Thornton. “The new application provides useful information that literally puts the Hotel Monteleone at our guests’ fingertips. The Mobile Passport is another example of how the Hotel has evolved over the last 125 years to establish itself as an innovator and a permanent fixture in the New Orleans hotel industry.”
