RINGLING BROS. AND BARNUM & BAILEY® PRESENTS
THE CRESCENT CITY SUMMER CELEBRATION PARADE
Join the Circus as it Parades through Downtown New Orleans

(NEW ORLEANS, La.) – June 2, 2011 – Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will bring the full circus experience to the streets of downtown New Orleans as they hold a 200th birthday bash to be remembered.

The Ringling Bros. Crescent City Summer Celebration Parade will kick off at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, at the intersection of Girod Street and Loyola Avenue.

This free and open to the public event will feature exotic animals never before seen on the streets of New Orleans, plus appearances by Ringling’s beloved Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson, clowns and dancers. Guests will also have a chance to win free tickets by catching some of Ringling’s exciting throws!

The parade will begin at the New Orleans Arena and go down Girod Street, left on Baronne Street, up Poydras and conclude on Loyola Avenue. As the parade comes to the end, a “watering” event will be held on Loyola Avenue where spectators will have a chance to see how Ringling keeps its largest and most pampered animals cool in the summer heat.

The watering stop and various additional elements of the parade are dependent on the weather. In the case of rain, the parade will not roll or be rescheduled.

Tickets to The Greatest Show On Earth are on sale now and can be purchased at the New Orleans Arena Box office, by visiting Ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.
