LOUISIANA COOKIN’ MAGAZINE
ANNOUNCES 10TH ANNUAL CHEFS TO WATCH AWARDS

Delicious Decisions: Five Louisiana Chefs Honored with Prestigious Title

New Orleans, LA —This year Louisiana Cookin's network of culinary enthusiasts around the state nominated a record number of chefs for consideration for the prestigious award. After much eating and discussion, the list was narrowed down to five talented young chefs who possess an understanding and respect for Louisiana’s unique culinary heritage while exhibiting the creativity and energy needed to engage today’s diners. The 2011 Chefs to Watch Awards go to:

  • Cory Bahr, Executive Chef-Owner, Restaurant Sage, Monroe, and 102 A Bistro, Ruston
  • Drew Dzejak, Executive Chef, The Grill Room at the Windsor Court, New Orleans
  • Nathan Gresham, Executive Chef-Owner, Beausoleil, Baton Rouge
  • Phillip Lopez, Executive Chef, Rambla, New Orleans
  • Colt Patin, Executive Chef, Crawfish Town USA, Henderson

Now in its 10th year, the Chefs to Watch program raises thousands of dollars for Café Reconcile, the nonprofit organization which trains at-risk youths to lead productive lives through culinary education and job placement; the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation, which works to focus the combined strength of the Louisiana hospitality industry, maximizing its ability to measurably improve the communities it serves; and various other charitable organizations around the state.

Congratulations to our 2011 Chefs to Watch award winners. They will be featured in the July/August edition of Louisiana Cookin' magazine. Visit our website, louisianacookin.com, for more information on the awards dinner, scheduled for August 22nd at the Theatre at Harrah’s New Orleans, to honor these chefs, showcase their talents, and aid our state.
