Olfactory Fun at Windsor Court’s White Wine Component Tasting
Learn how to sample wine like a professional sommelier

NEW ORLEANS (June 8, 2011). – Have you ever wanted to distinguish the citrus hints in a Riesling from the tropical fruits in a Sauvignon Blanc? Then learn how to perfect your palate at the Windsor Court’s White Wine Component Tasting.

On June 16th at 5:30 pm, Sommelier Sara Kavanaugh will place over 60 scents throughout The Grill Room’s Terrace. Attendees will tour the room, inhaling aromas such as fresh grass, peach and apricots. Then Kavanaugh will lead participants through a sampling of white wines to pinpoint the specific aromas and how each affects the composition of the wine.

“I spend a great deal of my time identifying aromas and breaking down the different scents in a wine,” says Kavanaugh. “This tasting allows you to compare and contrast your instincts with the actual fruit, and have a better depth of understanding of various components in wine.”

The wine tasting will begin at 5:30 pm and the cost is $25. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 504.522.1994.
