LRA Names Mike Voisin as Advocate of the Year

METAIRIE, La.—The Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA) is pleased to announce that it has named Mike Voisin, CEO of Motivatit Seafoods in Houma, as its 2011 Advocate of the Year. Voisin was honored at the 2011 LRA Awards Gala August 6, 2011 at the New Orleans Marriott.

The Advocate of the Year is a new award established by the LRA to recognize a person who has been a major influence on behalf of the LRA and its partner industries in Louisiana and across the country. Voisin is a respected leader and highly visible voice for Louisiana’s seafood industry. He has worked tirelessly during the aftermath of the BP oil spill and to educate the public and Louisiana’s elected officials about the safety of the state’s great natural seafood resources.

“Mike is a leader in communicating that Louisiana seafood is healthy and safe to eat,” said LRA Chair Tommy Cvitanovich. “He has been a recognizable source of information and has been sought out by such entities as the Food & Drug Administration, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency, just to name a few.”
