LRA Names Greg Reggio Active Member and Restaurateur of the Year
METAIRIE, La.—The Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA) is pleased to announce that it has named Greg Reggio of the Taste Buds Restaurant Group in New Orleans, as Active Member and Restaurateur of the Year. Reggio was honored at the 2011 LRA Awards Gala August 6, 2011 at the New Orleans Marriott.
Reggio has a long history of involvement and dedication to the LRA; he has been a member for 20 years. He and his two partners, Hans Limburg and Gary Darling, are known as the Taste Buds; together, they created the popular restaurant concepts of Semolina and Zea Rotisserie & Grill. Reggio is a LRA Director, and has served as president of the LRA’s Greater New Orleans Chapter. He has chaired numerous committees and spearheaded community service projects on a huge scale, including food relief efforts in Joplin, Mo. and Tuscaloosa, Ala. and a fundraiser for a fellow restaurateur who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident. He is the only person to receive dual LRA awards in the same year.
“Greg is not only a great restaurateur, he is an even better friend,” said LRA Chair Tommy Cvitanovich. “His efforts this year have made a difference in the lives of thousands of people and the LRA is proud to count him as an industry leader.”
