Emeril's Boudin & Beer on November 11
‘Boudin & Beer' Brings Food and Festivities to the Street with Charity Bash co-hosted by Emeril Lagasse, Donald Link & Mario Batali

Abita Beer - Louisiana's Largest Craft Brewer - Presenting Sponsor For First Annual Fete

NEW ORLEANS - September 28, 2011 - Emeril Lagasse Foundation announces the first-ever Boudin & Beer, a new outdoor charity food and music event, presented by Abita Beer and hosted by Emeril Lagasse with chefs Mario Batali and New Orleans' own Donald Link on Friday, November 11.  Boudin & Beer will take place at The Foundry and outdoors in New Orleans' warehouse district off Tchoupitoulas Street, with New Orleans' favorite restaurant chefs sharing a taste of their signature creations alongside top regional chefs and culinary food stars, all in support of children's arts and educational programs. This new nighttime food and music celebration is the latest addition to Emeril Lagasse Foundation's hugely successful charity food and wine event Carnivale du Vin, which will take place the following night on Saturday, November 12. Tickets to Boudin & Beer start at $75 and may be purchased online at boudinandbeer.com with proceeds benefitting Emeril Lagasse Foundation.

Over 1,000 people are expected to attend Beer & Boudin, which brings together 20 of the region's hottest chefs and will feature boudin, artisan sausages and rustic Louisiana fare, and the full lineup of craft brews from presenting sponsor Abita Beer. Abita will also create special cask brews exclusively for the event.

Adding to incredible food and beverage lineup, Southern food experts from the Southern Foodways Alliance with showcase the rich history of boudin, a silent auction of unique products, dining packages and experiences, plus performance artists and fun attractions.

Serving their take on boudin, sausages or rustic pork-inspired dishes at Boudin & Beer are over 20 top chefs: Emeril Lagasse, Mario Batali and Donald Link, along with Bart Bell (Crescent Pie and Sausage Co.), Aaron Burgau (Patois), John Currence (City Grocery, Oxford, MS), Joel Dondis (Joel Catering, Sucré), Mark Falgoust (Grand Isle Restaurant), Adolfo Garcia (RioMar), Tariq Hanna (Sucré), Josh Laskay (NOLA Restaurant), Spencer Minch (Emeril's Delmonico), Tory McPhail (Commander's Palace), Michelle McRaney (Mr. B's Bistro), Darin Nesbit (Palace Café),

Horst Pfeifer (Middendorf's, The Foundry), Alex Pilas (Eataly, New  York), Paul Prudhomme (K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen), Allison Vines Rushing and Slade Rushing (MiLa), Nick Seabergh (Giardina's, Greenwood, MS), Alon Shaya (Domenica), Susan Spicer (Bayona, Mondo), Stephen Stryjewski (Cochon), David Woodward (Hilton New Orleans Riverside), and Sue  Zemanick (Gautreau's).

In addition to presenting sponsor Abita Beer, Boudin & Beer is made possible thanks to the generous contributions of spirits from Republic National Distributing Co. and wines from Presqu'ile Winery. Supporting sponsors include Goldring Family Foundation, Viking Culinary Group and Rouses Markets.

About Emeril Lagasse Foundation
Established in 2002 as the realization of Chef Emeril's dream to improve the quality of young people's lives, Emeril Lagasse Foundation supports children's education and non-profit  organizations with a focus on the culinary arts, school food and nutrition, and important life skills programs that create new opportunities for children, especially for those from disadvantaged circumstances. Projects funded by the Foundation include an outdoor classroom, gardens, fresh foods cafeteria and teaching kitchen at Edible Schoolyard New Orleans, an accessible learning kitchen for special needs students at St. Michael Special School, and a culinary learning center for hospitality training for at-risk youth at Café Reconcile. In March 2011, Emeril dedicated the Emeril Lagasse Foundation Culinary Arts Studio, a four-year culinary arts program for high school students with master-apprentice curriculum at New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts. Each fall, the foundation hosts its primary annual fundraiser, Carnivale du Vin, which ranks among the "Top Ten U.S. Charity Wine Auctions" in Wine Spectator magazine. Since 2005, Carnivale du Vin has raised over $12 million for children's charities in the communities that are home to Emeril's restaurants.
