Jefferson Performing Arts Society Announces its 34th Season for 2011-2012!

The Jefferson Performing Arts Society (JPAS) is excited to announce its 34th Season of performances for 2011-12! JPAS is proud to bring the best in theatre and the performing arts to over 12 venues throughout Louisiana and Mississippi!

The JPAS 34th Season includes the latest Broadway hits including THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, XANADU, HAIRSPRAY and the LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA as well as classic like FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and a special NIGHT OF OPERA AND BROADWAY featuring the best local vocalists and actors performing Broadway and Opera's biggest hits. JPAS also is pleased to present the local premiers of THE BIKINIS and NUNSET BOULEVARD and the world premiere of Jim Fitzmorris' new play FROM A LONG WAY OFF. Shows like FLANAGAN'S WAKE, A CELTIC CHRISTMAS and the HALLELUJAH GIRLS add humor and warmth to the 34th Season. JPAS is delighted to bring back great performances for kids and families with JPAS Theatre for Young Audiences' productions of PETITE ROUGE: THE CAJUN RED RIDING HOOD and the local premiere of HOW I BECAME A PIRATE. Of course, the popular JPAS Theatre Kids! are back again with two Disney classics brought to life on stage with THE JUNGLE BOOK, KIDS and CINDERELLA, KIDS!

As always, the 16th Annual PASTA & PUCCINI Fund-Raising Gala presented by InterContinental New Orleans and Sammy L. Steele and The Donald & JJ Dooley Foundation in November promises to be a grand night with all proceeds benefiting JPAS' artistic endeavors for the season. In addition, JPAS will present a variety of special events to entertain and enrich including THE AMERICAN BOY CHOIR IN CONCERT and PBS' SLIMGOODBODY'S BODYOLOGY TOUR.

The Jefferson Performing Arts Society's 34th Season will have over 200 performances played on venues throughout the Gulf South and New Orleans Metro Area! Season subscriptions and individual tickets for all performances go on sale soon!
