THE SAINT HOTEL HAS ANNOUNCED IT IS OFFICIALLY OPEN
New Boutique Hotel in Landmark Audubon Building on Canal Street
Opens Just in Time for the BCS Bowl Weekend

NEW ORLEANS, LA (January 9, 2011) - The most anticipated hotel of the year has officially opened its doors! The Saint Hotel is finally here, and all are welcome.

After almost a decade of remaining vacant, the historic Audubon building on Canal Street has a new face and a new name as The Saint Hotel.

"My family has been in the hotel business for over 40 years and the opportunity to restore the historic Audubon Building has been an honor for us," said Mark Wyant, owner and developer of The Saint Hotel.

After a more than $45 million dollar purchase and transformation, The Saint Hotel provides the ultimate luxury lifestyle destination whether traveling for business or pleasure. The Saint is located on the Canal Street streetcar line and just a short walk from the world-famous French Quarter. The hotel's unsurpassed locale is just minutes from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and the New Orleans Arena.

The Saint Hotel offers guests a new and contemporary feel, while still capturing the sparkling charm and romance of New Orleans. Guest rooms provide a soothing, yet stimulating opulence, with white-and-indigo blue walls and an exposed brick wall. The sleek and modern, yet cozy, rooms let guests indulge in the finest amenities such as luxurious Egyptian cotton linens, complimentary in-room WiFi, and lavish Niven Morgan signature bath products.

The 166-room, 8-story Saint Hotel is home to the live jazz venue, Burgundy Bar. The Chicago Speakeasy style lounge pays tribute to the music of Louis Armstrong, and features live music several nights a week.

This Spring, The Saint will welcome Halo rooftop bar and lounge. Featuring panoramic views of downtown, Halo will be one of the only rooftop bars in the area. Renowned executive Chef Michael Stoltzfus will be lending his modern touch to classic American cooking at Sweet Olive, located in The Saint Hotel.

"I wanted to brand the hotel with a New Orleans flavor and Chef Stoltzfus is an amazing talent who will establish Sweet Olive at The Saint Hotel as a location for unforgettable dining," said Wyant.

Although Sweet Olive will not open for another few weeks, guests of the hotel will receive complementary continental breakfast catered daily by Chef Stoltzfus' culinary team.

"The Saint Hotel's timeless yet eclectic merging of the past and present is something New Orleans has never seen. I promise you that The Saint will become a New Orleans institution, where both locals and visitors can enjoy The Crescent City.

So stop in and meet The Saint, and indulge in a libation or two at Burgundy Bar.

BACKGROUND:

The property will reflect a new and contemporary spirit and look while staying true to important designs and traditions, such as the opulent grandeur of the Beaux Arts décor and era. The 166-room, 8-story Saint Hotel includes 320 sq. ft. modern guest rooms; 1450 sq. ft. of meeting and special event space; Sweet Olive, a chef-driven modern American restaurant; the Burgundy Bar offering live jazz saluting the sounds of Louis Armstrong; and Halo, a rooftop bar and lounge with panoramic views of downtown New Orleans.
