Melvin Rodrigue to Serve as LRA Chair

MELVIN RODRIGUE TO SERVE AS LRA CHAIR
METAIRIE, La. - The Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA) is pleased to announce that Melvin Rodrigue, Chief Operating Officer of Galatoire's Restaurant in New Orleans, will serve as the 2012 LRA Chair of the Board of Directors.
In this capacity, Rodrigue will serve as the ambassador of Louisiana's world-renowned restaurant industry. He will also travel the state meeting with all nine chapters throughout the year and foster the success of one of the state's largest business trade associations.
For 10 years, Rodrigue has been active in the LRA; he was elected to the state board in 2002 and served as Greater New Orleans Chapter President in 2006.
"We are fortunate to have someone like Melvin who gives so much of his time to making our industry, state and city better. Melvin's service to our community and others is exemplary," said LRA President & CEO Stan Harris.
Rodrigue has volunteered his time to numerous state board committees and has served on the LRA Education Foundation Board of Directors as a director and as Chair. In addition to his role at the LRA, he serves on five additional boards and chairs two. He is also the President of the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority.

"I look forward to furthering the restaurant industry's identity and reputation among political leaders, educators, consumers and most importantly, the members of the association."
