Camel Toe Lady Steppers 8th Annual Fund Raiser

NEW ORLEANS - January 24, 2012 - The Camel Toe Lady Steppers are excited to announce their 8th annual fundraiser, the Best-Little-Toe-Down-in-Nola, to be held on Friday January 27th, 2012, starting at 8:00pm at Tipitina's Uptown.

This year's Camel Toe Lady Stepper fundraiser takes place at Tipitina's, located at 501 Napoleon Avenue on Friday, January 27, 2012. Doors will open at 8:00pm. The fundraiser will feature multiple acts including the Roots of Music, The New Orleans Bingo! Show, The Local Skank, Mystic Ponies Aerial Troupe, Trixie Minx and Fleur de Tease, DJ Brice Nice, The Organ Grinders troupe, Les Re-Belles dance troupe, The Rolling Elvi, NOLAW female arm wresters, emcee Michael Brian Miller, and other great surprises.  A live auction and raffle, a performance by the Camel Toe Lady Steppers and Zack Smith's Fo-Toe booth will round out the evening's entertainment.  General Admission tickets are $20.00 and VIP tickets are $50 and may be purchased at the door or on the Tipitina's website. www.tipitinas.com

The Camel Toe Lady Steppers are an all-female marching krewe founded on Halloween of 2003.  The krewe currently numbers over 50 members with occupations from business owners to burlesque dancers, lawyers to movie-set make-up artists and doctors to nutritionists.  They march annually in the Muses parade as well as participate in other regional festivals and marching events throughout the year.  The CTLS mission is to promote positive female energy and to support New Orleans culture, all while having a good time.

A portion of fundraiser's proceeds benefit the Roots of Music, a free, after-school music education and marching band program that serves low-income New Orleans middle school students. This program was designed to teach the students teamwork skills through band participation, to expose them to our city's rich musical traditions and to keep them safely off the streets. Roots of Music was co-founded by (now Grammy-nominated!) Rebirth Brass Band member Derrick Tabb, who has been nationally recognized for his work through a nomination for CNN's "Hero of the Year," among other honors.  Since 2008, Camel Toe Lady Steppers have raised over $15,000 for the local non-profit.

The live auction features donations from over 40 area businesses including local bars & restaurants, hotels, retail stores and spas.  Guests can also bid on the unique opportunity to carry the Camel Toe Lady Steppers banner during the 2012 Muses parade.

Fundraiser organizer Beth Manley states "We look forward to this party every year.  Not only is it one of the best events of the season, but it also supports an incredible cause.  Come out, see some truly unique acts and bid on a great selection of items from local businesses, all in support of Roots of Music, an organization that is doing amazing things for the kids of our city."
