Four Points by Sheraton French Quarter opens in late 2012
in the Heart of New Orleans' Historic District
Stamford, CT - January 31, 2012 - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announced plans to add Four Points by Sheraton French Quarter to its brand in New Orleans, LA. The hotel is located in the heart of the world-renowned French Quarter, and is scheduled to open in July 2012.
Owned by L-I, a Louisiana Partnership in Commendam, the former Ramada hotel will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation prior to opening as a Four Points. The hotel will offer186 guest rooms, state-of-the-art meeting facilities and amenities that reflect New Orleans' unique character and hospitality.

Located at 541 Bourbon Street, Four Points by Sheraton French Quarter is walking distance to the city's famous jazz clubs, historic French Market, and countless shops, restaurants and bars. Guests can opt to book balcony rooms overlooking Bourbon Street - the perfect vantage point to take in the sights and sounds of New Orleans' fabulous Mardi Gras festivities. The hotel is convenient to Jackson Square, Canal Street, St. Louis Cathedral and the Cabildo, and just minutes from the New Orleans Arena and Mercedes-Benz Superdome - respective homes of the NBA's New Orleans Hornets and the NFL's New Orleans Saints.

To understand the L-I Partnership in Commendam, it is important to first understand the history of the actual site of the Four Points By Sheraton French Quarter. The hotel is located on the site of the original French Opera House, which opened in 1859. For many years, the Opera House reigned as New Orleans' cultural epicenter, where the finest balls and grandest operas took place. A fire destroyed the building in 1919. After that, the location took on various incarnations, including a parking garage and gift shop. In 1989, Mr. and Mrs. Robert T. Tonti of New Orleans bought the hotel.
