An
FBO "Designed by Pilots for Pilots" Debuts its New Terminal at Lakefront Airport
After almost four years,
AeroPremier Jet Center finally moves into its new FBO offices in a recently
renovated terminal that the Orleans Levee District designed and restored. Formerly a National Guard helicopter
facility, the building was destroyed during Katrina and it was uncertain what
the fate of the structure would be pending FEMA funding discussions. In 2008, AeroPremier successfully won its bid
to operate an FBO at the airport and FEMA funding was allocated to restore the
National Guard facility towards that use.
After several contractor delays, the building was finally delivered to
the Orleans Levee District on Feb 1, 2012 and AeroPremier moved its operation
from its temporary trailer facilities to the newly renovated building.
According to Jay Taffet, the
General Manager of AeroPremier, "Already being ranked by pilots as a leader in
FBO service, the debut of our new, luxury terminal makes us the natural leader
in both private air presentation and amenities at Lakefront Airport."
From the elegant, spacious
lobby to the state-of-the-art flight planning room to the cozy pilot lounge and
sleep rooms to the private aircrew bathrooms and showers to the eat-in,
bistro-style kitchen to the hospitality/snack area equipped with new vending
machines, ATM, coffee service, popcorn and cookies, AeroPremier has created an
FBO that makes every customer arrival and departure truly special. Combine that with over 50,000 sf of hangar
space capable of accommodating up to a G-V, a full complement of line/ramp
services, professional, certified maintenance support, complete concierge
services including high-end ground transportation and hotel options at very
affordable rates, the finest aircraft meal-service support in the industry with
multiple catering options and a dishwasher in the terminal for
dishware/glassware cleaning, affordable rental car options including free Hertz
Gold Club membership for all FBO customers and new crew cars, you can easily
see why this is an FBO you do not want to miss!
"We describe our FBO as
‘designed by pilots for pilots' because we know what you want to see and do
while you're with us," Taffet, a long-time GA pilot and former military pilot, says. "This building is really something to see
and, after you do, you will truly understand what it's like when you combine
exceptional service with exceptional facilities and wrap it up with the
enthusiasm of devoted pilots who make up the AeroPremier management and
ownership team."
And, finally, you won't believe what you see on the walls
when you walk into the AeroPremier terminal:
the famous "Blue Dog" paintings throughout the lobby, flight planning
and pilot lounges. Thanks to a very
generous loan by the popular artist George Rodrigue through his foundation the
George Rodrigue Foundation, AeroPremier has become both a showcase of private
air service and amenities and elegant interior design. "It truly is something to see - pilots are
overwhelmed by the unique and fun ‘welcome committee' that is the Blue Dog at
every turn in the terminal. The
paintings truly make our FBO a home for our staff and our customers, " says
Taffet.
