Speakers include Don Berwick, MD, the United States' leading advocate for high-quality health care, former administrator for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and founding CEO for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).
The association's concurrent trade show is the largest surgical products trade show in the United States. Surgical products are presented by more than 500 exhibitors and include instruments and devices for the attending nurses' use in the operating room.
AORN represents the interests of more than 160,000 perioperative nurses by providing nursing education, standards and practice resources-including the peer-reviewed, monthly publication AORN Journal-to enable optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures. AORN's 41,000 registered nurse members manage, teach and practice perioperative nursing, are enrolled in nursing education or are engaged in perioperative research.
