Whitney Zoo-To-Do Legendary Fundraiser Sparks Over-The-Top Fun!

Elegant and unique, Audubon Zoo's Whitney Zoo-To-Do is legendary around New Orleans and across the country. Whitney Zoo-To-Do, May 4, 2012, is the fantastic party everyone wants to attend - and what happens on the gorgeous grounds of Audubon Zoo during the celebration always has the town buzzing for weeks.

The food and drink are the best New Orleans has to offer from the city's most famous restaurants. Entertainment from the stage this year is The Family Stone, certain to have the glittering crowd dancing. Everyone's been to Audubon Zoo during the day, but seeing the Zoo decked out for Whitney Zoo-To-Do at night has a whole different vibe, with starry lights twinkling from ancient oaks and sparkling decorations transforming the familiar Zoo into a magical, moonlit wonderland, setting a romantic and inviting mood. The champagne starts flowing before guests even get in the front gate, and fun continues well into the wee hours.

In this happy atmosphere, guests clamor to buy one more raffle ticket to take a chance on winning a Lexus CT200h donated by Lexus of New Orleans - if there are any raffle tickets left to be sold, that is. Only a thousand tickets at $100 each are offered, so the guest who feels especially lucky should make sure to buy at least one raffle ticket online before the party starts, in case raffle tickets sell out. The winner is announced from the stage just before the main act begins.

All this party fun has a purpose, as Whitney Zoo-To-Do routinely raises more than a million dollars each year to benefit the world-class Audubon Zoo. This year, the spotlight is on Cooper Plaza, being refurbished to make an arrival at Audubon Zoo even more warm and welcoming.

Everyone's invited! Attire is black-tie, and the people-watching is beyond compare. Visit www.auduboninstitute.org/ztd for tickets, or phone (504) 861-6160. No tickets are sold at the gate that evening.
