WHERE: New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (MCCNO), Halls G-J

WHEN: Thursday, April 19-Saturday, April 21, 2012

DETAILS: More than 5,000 internal medicine physicians, or internists, subspecialists, medical students and allied health professionals will attend Internal Medicine 2012, the annual scientific meeting of the American College of Physicians (ACP). The meeting will feature 250 scientific sessions as well as many opportunities for networking and mentoring among physicians. Attendees will also have the opportunity to register for the Herbert S. ACP is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the United States. ACP members include 132,000 internal medicine physicians, related subspecialists and medical students. Internists specialize in the prevention, detection and treatment of illness in adults.

The last time New Orleans hosted the ACP was in 2004, and this year's Internal Medicine 2012 is estimated to bring in $12.9 million in economic impact.
