Make Plans to Attend Cookin' and Cocktails,
A Perfect Prelude to a fun-filled Festival Weekend

Cookin' and Cocktails, will be held on Thursday, July 5th, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Riverview Room, Jackson Brewery, 600 Decatur Street, 4^th Level, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This "Do Something Different" event is the perfect way to kick-off a great weekend of friends, food, fun and of course, music for this year's Essence Music Festival.

New Orleans is home to one of the country's most celebrated cuisines and nothing brings people together better than sharing a great meal.  Come get a taste of New Orleans...LITERALLY.  The Riverview Room, transformed and outfitted with observation mirrors, will provide the perfect setting for you to view an interactive and engaging cooking demonstration from one of the area's top chefs from the New Orleans School of Cooking.  Your charismatic chef will certainly entertain as well as educate, leaving guests with great tips, shortcuts and secrets, not to mention a delicious dish for everyone to enjoy together.  Guests will also leave with take-away copies of each recipe to take home so they can showcase their own skills and create the same dish for family and friends who are sure to be impressed.

Attendees will savor authentic "Crescent City" cuisine accompanied by soft drinks, beer, wine and spirits, all while overlooking the infamous French Quarter, majestic Mississippi River and enchanting New Orleans skyline.  Make sure you arrive early so you can enjoy the view before dinner.  Doors open at 7 p.m. with dinner demo at 7:30.

What's for dinner?  A signature soup, N'awlins authentic entrée and a delectable dessert will be featured.
