(New Orleans, La. )- Casting about for an evening of fun? You can stop fishing!

Make plans now to be at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas on Friday, September 14 for Scales & Ales presented by Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board to benefit the Aquarium's education programs and conservation efforts.

The third annual event features New Orleans cuisine from more than two dozen local restaurants, live music, raffle items and a unique opportunity to watch the stars come out over the Mississippi River. Guests are invited to enjoy the exceptional sights and sounds of Audubon Aquarium after dark.

Partygoers will shake their fins to local favorite Papa Grows Funk and Mingo Fishtrap of Austin, Texas. The bash will also include a performance by the New Orleans Sirens marching krewe and Fleurty Girl, Lauren Thom, will be the Master of Ceremonies. Scales & Ales patrons can enjoy Abita beers, including Amber and Purple Haze, along with specialty offerings such as Vanilla Doubledog, Pecan Harvest Ale and Barley Wine.

The party's extensive selection of beers are perfect for pairing with dishes from New Orleans favorite eateries including Galatoire's Restaurant, Antoine's Restaurant, Red Fish Grill, RioMar, Dish on Hayne, The Praline Connection, Huck Finn's Café, Acme Oyster House, Corky's Bar-B-Q, and Camellia Grill. With a focus on local ales and food, several of the dishes at Scales & Ales will be prepared with fresh Louisiana seafood.

Scales & Ales is an adult-only event on Friday, September 14 from 8pm-11pm with a Patron Party that begins at 7pm. Tickets start at $55. Patron tickets are $100 per person. Audubon Aquarium and Entergy IMAX® Theatre will be closed all day on Sept. 14 to prepare for the event.

Scales & Ales supports Audubon's education and conservation program, including our efforts in rescuing, rehabilitating and successfully releasing stranded and injured sea turtles and marine mammals.

Tickets are on sale now and are limited! No tickets will be sold at the door the night of the event. Event parking will be available at a discounted rate of $7 in the Canal Place Parking Garage with validation.

General admission tickets to Audubon Aquarium of the Americas are $21 for adults, $14 for children and $17 for seniors. Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is located at 1 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130. General admission tickets are not valid for Scales & Ales.
