New Orleans Film Society Patron Party and Gala on September 27 at Hotel Modern

Beasts of the Southern Wild Director Benh Zeitlin Honored as this Year's "Celluloid Hero"

NEW ORLEANS, LA (September 4, 2012)-The New Orleans Film Society (NOFS) and the Hotel Modern are pleased to announce the red carpet will soon unroll for the New Orleans Film Society's annual Patron Party and Gala. This celebrated event serves as the primary fundraiser for staging NOFS' signature event, the New Orleans Film Festival. The Film Society Patron Party and Gala will offer a "sneak peek" of this year's exciting lineup for the 23rd Annual New Orleans Film Festival (held October 11-18, 2012). The New Orleans Film Festival, Louisiana's largest and longest-running international film festival, presents a comprehensive, world-class program of film screenings and associated events: panels, workshops, receptions, awards presentations, opening and closing night events, and numerous opportunities for learning, networking and celebrating the finest in cinema, with a special focus on Louisiana-produced films.

WHAT: New Orleans Film Society and the Hotel Modern present the New Orleans Film Society's Patron Party and Gala. NOFS will present the 2012 "Celluloid Hero" Award to Benh Zeitlin, Director of Beasts of the Southern Wild, which has received worldwide acclaim.

Entertainment will include live musical performances by James Singleton Jr. / Justin Peake "504ward" and a special solo performance by Theresa Anderson, a live auction by auctioneer Adam Marcus, food by Chef Dominique Macquet of Tamarind and specialty cocktails by the Bartenders of Bellocq.

WHEN: Thursday, September 27, 2012
Patron Party: 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Gala: 8:00 - 11:00 p.m.

WHERE: Hotel Modern 936 St. Charles Avenue

TICKETS: Tickets are limited and may be purchased on NOFS' website at www.neworleansfilmsociety.org.

Patron Party: $200 for NOFS Members, $225 for Non-Members
Gala: $100 for NOFS Members, $125 for Non-Members
Gala Only (Price for Attendees under 30): $50 for NOFS Members, $75 for Non-Members

All attendees will have the opportunity to purchase All-Access Film Festival passes for a one-time only price of $100 the evening of the Patron Party and Gala.
