Top Chef Event to Benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS- Help us promote NOLA Goes Pink, the first month-long, city-wide top chef event to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure (SGK), New Orleans in the United States. Throughout the month of October, visitors to the Crescent City give back to the city by dining and drinking at some of the most renowned restaurants. New Orleans' top chefs will wear pink chef's coats and designate an existing healthy menu item or create a NOLA Goes Pink (NGP) dish with ten percent (10%) of the proceeds of each sale going directly to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, New Orleans. In a city renowned for its sauces and spices, menus will feature healthy alternatives.

In addition to healthy menu items, Ralph's on the Park will feature the Pink Poodle cocktail throughout the month of October and will donate twenty percent (20%) of the proceeds to SGK, New Orleans. To further the cause, staff at all seven (7) Reginelli's locations in the metropolitan area will wear a custom-designed t-shirt in support of NGP. They held a Facebook contest to select the best NGP design. The winning shirt reads, "Breast Cancer...Fight Dat" and incorporates a fleur de lis symbol. They will sell the shirt with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, New Orleans. Instead of creating or designating one dish, Pho Orchid is donating ten percent (10%) of the proceeds from the entire menu for the month of October to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, New Orleans.

Wait staff at other participating NOLA Goes Pink restaurants will wear official Susan G. Komen for the Cure pink ribbons and the same pink ribbons will be made into decals, so that patrons will know that they are dining in an establishment that supports raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research.

"My mother is a survivor, but I lost my grandmother and my aunt to breast cancer. I reached out to city's amazing hospitality and culinary community last year. They rose to the occasion to support my grass roots cause, NOLA Goes Pink (NGP), including Celebrity Chef Susan Spicer, Ritz-Carlton Executive Chef Vinny Russo, Tourism CEO Mark Romig, CVB PR and Communications VP Kelly Schulz and First Lady Cheryl Landrieu," says NGP founder Char Thian. "I'm proud to be a New Orleanian and to work in an industry that exemplifies the spirit of hospitality. What better cause than to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research in our community and support our local Susan G. Komen for the Cure chapter?"

NOLA Goes Pink (NGP) is the only month-long, city-wide, chef-driven promotion in support of breast cancer awareness in the United States.
