Hands-On Volunteer Program-Victory Corps Saturday
Saturday, October 6, 2012
10:00 am - 2:00 pm
The National WWII Museum, 945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA
Most museums state loudly "Hands-Off!", but with The National WWII Museum's teen Victory Corps program, it's HANDS-ON. Explore and learn about WWII history in an exciting, new way - through touching actual artifacts from the war that changed the world. At stations placed strategically throughout the Museum's world-class exhibits, guests can feel what it was like to have their future placed in the hands of a lottery system by participating in a mock draft, while in the D-Day Landings Gallery guests get a chance to experience some of the smells of the battlefield likely encountered by American servicemen from a selection of glass test tubes. Staffed by our dedicated teen volunteers, the Victory Corps program runs most Saturdays and is free with Museum admission. For more information call 504-528-1944 x 304.
