NOLA Motorsports Park to host first annual OctoberFast, October 28
Event to Include Zombie 5K Race, Trunk-or-Treat, Pumpkin Patch, Hayride and More
(NEW ORLEANS, La.) - Oct. 1, 2012 - Trick or treat! Kick-off your Halloween celebration early with NOLA Motorsports Park first annual OctoberFAST, Sunday, Oct. 28 from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.
To begin, participate in the Zombie 5K race, featuring hungry Zombies who are on a mission to sneak up on participants and take their flags, which symbolize their lives. Whoever finishes the race with the most number of flags will be named the winner. Participants will also be awarded for best costume and most creative hiding spot. The public is also invited to enjoy an array of activities for all ages, including:
- Trunk-or-Treat - Trick-or-Treat out of the trunks of the stars of the Krewe du Vroom car show, from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the best-decorated trunk or car.
- Drag-n-Lap - Compete for the fastest quarter mile time and lap around the 1.8 mile track. For more information, email wes@nolamotor.com.
- Ghosts of Corner Works Past Hayride - Take a hayride on the racetrack as ghosts of some ill-fated corner workers take their revenge.
- Blood Drive - Donate blood at the mobile blood center to receive a free OctoberFAST t-shirt.
- "Pumpkin Patch" Kids' Crafts - Enjoy pumpkin painting and other fall crafts at NOLA Motorsports Events Center. Also, grab a bite to eat at Chef Scott Boswell's Stanley at the Track.
- Karting Costume Contests - Show off your unique costume while whipping around in our European-bred geaux karts.
Sponsorships are available for purchase, including the Platinum ($2,000), Gold ($1,000), Silver ($500) and Bronze ($350). Proceeds will benefit the Roots of Music with a mission to help at-risk kids through music education, tutoring and mentoring.
