Fall Forward - Experience What's In Store This Fall And Winter Season At The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans

New Orleans, La. (October 3, 2012) - Looking towards the fall and fast forwarding to the winter, there is a lot in store at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans. On October 6, 2012, the hotel will celebrate its twelfth anniversary as the ‘Crown Jewel of Canal Street' - as per the front page of The Times-Picayune, October 6, 2000.

The hotel is housed within the former Maison Blanche building, home to what was considered the South's finest department store. Following a $250M renovation and restoration, the historic landmark building was transformed into the city's finest luxury hotel, The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans. The 452 room property opened with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, October 6, 2000. The 75 room freestanding boutique hotel known as The Maison Orleans opened seven months later on May 6, 2001. The two hotels share the same building and management team. In 2005, both hotels closed as a result of the effects of the storm, but they reopened in 2006 and The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans' room inventory was combined with that of The Maison Orleans for a total room count of 527 under one roof. At that time, The Maison Orleans became the hotel's exclusive Club Level - a dedicated premium category offering guests a ‘hotel within a hotel experience.' Last but not least, the hotel underwent a $9M guest room renovation last year to enhance its status as the Crown Jewel of Canal Street.

Historical characters like Marie Laveau and Napoleon Bonaparte stroll the French Quarter while carolers take to Jackson Square and a parade complete with marching bands rolls past our front doors to signal the beginning of the holiday season.

HOLIDAY EVENTS

Toy Drive- Forgotten Angels

Give back this holiday season by sending in or dropping off a new, unwrapped toy or new warm winter clothes at the hotel. All donations will go to the Ozanam Inn's Forgotten Angels event on December 9th. Two hundred and fifty (250) homeless children and their family members will enjoy a warm meal prepared by the hotel's Executive Chef Vinny Russo and they'll each receive toys and winter clothing. They can be kids, not homeless children for the day.

  • Holiday Apothecary Bar: Warm up with soothing seasonal offerings like pumpkin, gingerbread and cranberry.

HALLOWEEN HOBGOBLIN TEA

Children of all ages are invited to join the friendly ghouls and goblins of The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans for this annual event. Costumes are encouraged as children will be treated to a variety of Halloween themed activities.

THANKSGIVING DAY LUNCH and DINNER, M bistro

In lieu of the typical holiday brunch, the culinary team has prepared a unique four-course prix fixe lunch and dinner option for holiday patrons. Meal service will begin with complimentary Mimosas, followed by an iced seafood bar, soup or salad, an entrée and a dessert bar. M bistro will not offer an a la carte dining option and it will not be open for dinner service after the last seating at 6:30 p.m. Diners in The Davenport Lounge and Courtyard can order from the lounge's a la carte menu throughout the day and evening.

PAPA NOEL HOLIDAY TEAS, Davenport Lounge

Adults and children alike enjoy this annual event on the third floor of The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans. Papa Noel reads to the children while they enjoy delicious treats from the pastry team.

CHRISTMAS EVE and CHRISTMAS DAY DINNER, M bistro

NEW YEAR'S EVE BLACK TIE DINNER, M bistro

Reserve the most prized ticket in the City, New Year's Eve at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans. Men should don their favorite black tie ensemble while ladies should be in evening attire. This five-course celebratory dinner features Grammy-nominated artist Jeremy Davenport, party favors and a midnight champagne toast.
