Fall Forward - Experience What's In Store This Fall And Winter Season At The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans

New Orleans, La. (October 3, 2012) - Looking towards the fall and fast forwarding to the winter, there is a lot in store at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans. On October 6, 2012, the hotel will celebrate its twelfth anniversary as the ‘Crown Jewel of Canal Street' - as per the front page of The Times-Picayune, October 6, 2000.

The hotel is housed within the former Maison Blanche building, home to what was considered the South's finest department store. Following a $250M renovation and restoration, the historic landmark building was transformed into the city's finest luxury hotel, The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans. The 452 room property opened with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, October 6, 2000. The 75 room freestanding boutique hotel known as The Maison Orleans opened seven months later on May 6, 2001. The two hotels share the same building and management team. In 2005, both hotels closed as a result of the effects of the storm, but they reopened in 2006 and The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans' room inventory was combined with that of The Maison Orleans for a total room count of 527 under one roof. At that time, The Maison Orleans became the hotel's exclusive Club Level - a dedicated premium category offering guests a ‘hotel within a hotel experience.' Last but not least, the hotel underwent a $9M guest room renovation last year to enhance its status as the Crown Jewel of Canal Street.

Experience our newly renovated guest rooms, our nationally recognized farm-to-table restaurant, a lounge that features classic New Orleans cocktails accompanied by live jazz every weekend and a spa that is consistently ranked among the best in the United States. Take advantage of the hotel's unique offerings, the city's moderate temperatures and our Papa Noel room rates that start at $199 this holiday season. The entire city is bedecked for the holidays and the hotel features a forty-foot tree in the courtyard, individual trees throughout the hotel, giant wreaths on the exterior, dozens of poinsettias and a gingerbread display from the pastry team. Historical characters like Marie Laveau and Napoleon Bonaparte stroll the French Quarter while carolers take to Jackson Square and a parade complete with marching bands rolls past our front doors to signal the beginning of the holiday season.
