English Turn Gives back in 1st Annual Breast Cancer Community Walk
Prominent Local Golf Course Lends a Helping Hand to Find a Cure

NEW ORLEANS, LA (October 1, 2012) - English Turn Golf & Country Club, in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure New Orleans, is sponsoring the 1st annual English Turn Gives Back Breast Cancer Community Walk on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. Supporters will gather at the Clubhouse parking lot (1 Clubhouse Drive) for a 5k run/walk through the beautiful English Turn neighborhood, followed by a 1k walk that begins at 9:00 a.m. for those who prefer the shorter scenic route.

English Turn residents and breast cancer supporters everywhere are welcomed to participate in this first-time event. Registration is $15 Adults/$10 Kids (18 and under) until Saturday, October 6. Late registration is $25 Adults/$15 Kids. All participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt. An after party will also be held on site, featuring food, music and fun for everyone. All proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation New Orleans to continue in the battle to eradicate breast cancer through research, education, screening and treatment.

"We are happy to do our part to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure," says Gary Braun, general manager of English Turn Golf & Country Club. "Along with everyone in the greater community, our English Turn friends and neighbors are also committed to helping people live healthier, happier cancer-free lives."

In the spirit of community, sponsors of the English Turn Gives Back Breast Cancer Community Walk are also encouraging participants to join the "Race for the Cure" on October 20th, 2012 sponsored by Susan G. Komen in New Orleans City Park. The public can register for the walk at http://www.komenneworleans.org/.
