Port, Carnival to celebrate refurbished Conquest

Statewide economic impact from cruise industry to be released

NEW ORLEANS- Carnival Cruise Lines and the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans will celebrate the return of the Carnival Conquest Sunday with a reception and charitable donation to the United Way of Southeast Louisiana on board the ship, which is fresh from a multi-million-dollar makeover. The refurbishment added a variety of exciting new features including an EA Sports Bar, Guy's Burger Joint (developed in partnership with Food Network star Guy Fieri, Punchliner Comedy Club presented by George Lopez, Red Frog Rum Bar and more.

Port officials will also announce record statewide economic impacts resulting from cruise industry spending in New Orleans.

What: Reception and presentation on board the Carnival Conquest to celebrate the ship's return from dry dock following a multi-million-dollar refurbishment.

When: Sunday, October 28. Check-in 10:30 a.m. Reception 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
