"SHOP AWAY IN THE VIEUX CARRE" this Season!
French Quarter Business Association hosts a Special Holiday Shopping Day - Saturday, November 17th

New Orleans, LA -
French Quarter businesses are hosting a special pre-holiday shopping day. Businesses will be offering a little something extra to get shoppers in the holiday spirit. Specials range from artist and author signings, to jewelry makers on site, special discounts and of course holiday treats will also be offered to those enjoying the shopping day.

Some "don't miss" spots include, but are certainly not limited to:
Dutch Alley Artist Co-op will be celebrating their 9th Anniversary with a "Cloud 9" Event beginning at 6 pm, and throughout the day artists will be unveiling holiday items. (Remember: all original art purchased in the French Quarter Cultural Product District is tax free!)

French Market & Jackson Square Shops will be offering holiday treats and a variety of discounts.

M.S. Rau Antiques on Royal Street will have just premiered a specially curated exhibit of significant Impressionist paintings. This remarkable collection includes paintings spanning the pre-Impressionist and Impressionist movements with works by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Vincent van Gogh and Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot, works owned by M.S. Rau as well as works on loan.

Nadine Blake on Royal will be hosting local jeweler Suzannah Murray showing her new designs for her jewelry line Lark & Lotus. 5- till.

Hermann-Grima and Gallier Historic House Museum
The Exchange Shop on the Hermann-Grima House property is a consignment shop selling the work of local female artists. Special for November 17th the first floor of the Hermann-Grima House will be open for visitors, as well as have artists in the courtyard to meet and greet.

The Shops at Canal Place is an excellent place to park and start your French Quarter day. A pedi-cab pick up and drop off spot will be at the Iberville Street entrance. There will be live music in the atrium throughout the day.

NOLA Pedi Cabs will be available to shoppers at no cost with specific stops. Several pedi-cabs will be rolling to offer your tired feet and bag-filled hands a break to get from store to store. These specially designated pedi-cabs are sponsored by Aunt Sally's Praline Shop, The Black Butterfly, Historic New Orleans Collection, Huck Finns, Jax Brewery, Pat O'Brien's and The Shops at Canal Place.

Maps with more details on business specials and pedi-cab drop & pick up stops will be available at The Shops at Canal Place information desk and the Jax Brewery tour desk. Participating businesses will also have maps available.
