Bonsai Workshop

The word "Bonsai," which is pronounced "Bone- Sigh," is made up of the two Japanese
characters: "Bon" meaning tray and "sai" meaning plant, which when literally translated
means: tray plant.

Jim Osborne with the Greater New Orleans Bonsai Society will teach a three hour hands on workshop where you will learn bonsai basics and create your very own bonsai tree. If you have ever wanted to learn the art of bonsai and how these living works of art are created, then this workshop is for you! The class is November 10 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Class is limited to 15 people and is $35.

Bring your own bonsai pot if you wish and special bonsai soil will be provided.

What to bring: sharp pair of scissors, garden gloves, and apron and bonsai pot (optional).

Soil, wire, and an Azalea will be provided. To register call Susan Capley at 504-483-9473.
